Il y a quelques mois, j’ai découvert les bijoux de Cindy Gate et sa boutique Etsy l’Atelier Saturne.
Passionnée par les bijoux et la lithothérapie, elle s’est retrouvée confrontée à une problématique éthique : comment faire pour allier sa passion pour la confection de bijoux et l’utilisation de pierres tout en gardant un esprit écologique.
C’est à ce moment là qu’elle a eu cette idée de se tourner vers ce concept formidable auquel je suis très sensible : l’upcycling, ou comment faire du neuf avec du vieux ?
Elle a donc décidé de réutiliser des pierres ou des éléments ornementaux en chinant ici et là pour créer tous ses bijoux. En plus d’une démarche eco-friendly, je trouve que le fait de donner une seconde vie à des pierres, coquillages et pendentifs donne à sa boutique un charme authentique.
Sachez tout de même qu’elle prend soin d’utiliser des fils et des branches de boucles d'oreilles neuves, pour des raisons de durabilité et d'hygiène.

A few months ago, I discovered Cindy Gate’s jewellery and her Etsy shop, Atelier Saturne.
Passionate about jewellery and lithotherapy, she found herself facing an ethical dilemma- how to unite her passion for jewellery making and the use of stones, all while remaining eco-friendly.
It was then that she had the idea to turn to this amazing concept which I am very aware of: upcycling, or how to make something new from something old.
She therefore decided to reuse stones or decorative elements by hunting here and there to create all her jewellery. Besides having an eco-friendly approach, I find that giving a second life to stones, shells, and pendants gives her shop an authentic charm.
Nevertheless, she still takes care to use new wires and hooks for earrings, for reasons of durability and hygiene.
